This privacy statement explains the data collection and use practices of
worldgroupware.com; it does not apply to other online or offline sites, products or
services. Please read the complete worldgroupware.com privacy statement.
At Worldgroupware, we are committed to protecting your privacy and to developing
technology that gives you an effective and secure online experience. You can travel
through much of our site without giving us any information about yourself, but we do need
information to provide services that you request, and this statement of privacy explains
data collection and use in those situations.
Collecting your Personal Information
We will periodically ask you for information that personally identifies you (personal
information) or allows us to contact you. Generally, this information is requested when
joining a limited-access site, or when purchasing and registering Worldgroupware products.
The personal information collected by Worldgroupware includes name, mailing address, email
address, telephone number, date of birth (used to establish you are of legal age), and IP
(internet protocol) address, but may also include other information when needed to provide
a service you requested.
For example: If you choose a service or transaction that requires payment, such as
purchasing a software upgrade, we will request personal information necessary for billing
and/or shipping, such as: name, address, telephone number, and credit card number.
Worldgroupware.com includes areas that are restricted to registered users of our software
products only. When registering for an account on our support system, we will ask you for
personal information so that we may identify you as a registered user of our software.
This registration information is associated with a User ID which you select, and may be
reviewed and updated by visiting www.worldgroupware.com/account .
Use of your Personal Information
We make use of your personal information for the following purposes:
- To make the site easier for you to use by not making you enter your
personal information more than once.
- To deliver services that you request or purchase.
- To help you quickly find software, services or information on
worldgroupware.com.
- To help us create and publish content most relevant to you.
- To alert you to product upgrades, special offers, updated
information and other new services from Worldgroupware
We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services
on our behalf, including packaging, mailing and delivering purchases, answering customer
questions about products or services, sending postal mail and processing event
registration. We will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver
the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.
Worldgroupware may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in
the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the
law or comply with legal process served on Worldgroupware or the site; (b) protect and
defend the rights or property of Worldgroupware and its family of Web sites, or (c) act in
urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Worldgroupware, its Web
sites, or the public.
Control of your Personal Information
When you register, or otherwise give us personal information, worldgroupware.com will not
share that information with third parties without your permission, other than for the
limited exceptions already listed. It will only be used for the purposes stated above.
Worldgroupware may send out periodic emails informing you of technical service issues
related to a product or service. You will not be able to choose to unsubscribe to these
mailings, as they are considered an essential part of the support services we provide to
registered users.
Access to your Personal Information
We will provide you with the means to ensure that your personal information is correct and
current. You may view and edit this information at any time at www.worldgroupware.com/account
Security of your Personal Information
Worldgroupware strictly protects the security of your personal information. We carefully
protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or
destruction. Your personal information is never shared outside the company without your
permission, except under conditions explained above. Inside the company, data is stored in
password-controlled servers with limited access.
You also have a significant role in protecting your information. No one can see or edit
your personal information without knowing your User ID and password, so do not share these
with others.
Protection of Children's Personal Information
The worldgroupware.com site does not publish content that is targeted to children, nor do
we provide access to the limited areas of our system to children. However, if you are
concerned about your children having provided Worldgroupware any personal information
without your consent, please contact us via email to sysop@worldgroupware.com and we will remove
this information from our systems.
Use of Cookies
To ensure we are publishing content customers need and want, worldgroupware.com may
collect site-visitation statistics using cookies. We only use this information in
aggregated form and only use site-visitation statistics for improving our site.
When someone visits the site, a cookie is placed on the customers machine (if the
customer accepts cookies) or is read if the customer has visited the site previously.
Web beacons, also known as clear gif technology, or action tags, assist in delivering the
cookie. This technology tells us how many visitors clicked on key elements (such as links
or graphics) on a worldgroupware.com web page. We do not use this technology to access
your personally identifiable information; it is a tool we use to compile aggregated
statistics about worldgroupware.com web site usage. We may share aggregated site
statistics with partner companies but do not allow other companies to place clear gifs on
our sites.
Worldgroupware also uses cookies in connection with the use of your user account to access
the restricted areas on the worldgroupware.com web site. When you log onto the
worldgroupware site to access the restricted areas, a cookie is placed on your machine to
identify you as a registered user for the duration of your session. If you choose to not
have your browser accept cookies, you may not be able to access the restricted areas of
the worldgroupware.com site via the web.
Changes to this Statement
Worldgroupware.com will occasionally update this privacy statement. When we do, we will
also revise the "last updated" date at the top of the privacy statement, and
post notice on our web site.
